Spinal invertebralcages are hollow prisms of different sizes with holes in sides. They fill inner cavity by bone grafts, or they have a shape of hollow cylinder with outer thread and with four lengthwise holes in the shell. They also fill inner cavity by bone grafts.
Both types of invertebralcages stabilise two adjoining vertebras until origin of intersomatic fusion and keeping it by operation, reached distance between bodies of two vertebras. If invertebralcages are used in combination with inner fixators, outer fixation in plaster corset is not needed in postoperative process. Their usage also reduces the risk of pseudoarthrosis developed by spondylodesis. Implantation of invertebralcages is performed from front and back access to spine in chest and lumbar section. It is used from mid-age where we need to remove disk between vertebras and to reach firm osseous connection between bodies of adjoining vertebras. Invertebralcages get totally implanted into the body, they will not be surgically removed. During operation, it is always necessary to use special instruments for invertebralcages - system of spine operation.
