History
More than 60 years ago began the Chirana Company’s history by first made dental drills and cutters. Gradually, production of surgical instruments and orthopedic and trauma implants followed. In 2011, we are able to find solutions for most medical specialties.
1949 – Start of production
In the newly established Chirana plant in Czech republic, the first dental laboratory drills and cutters have been made.
1950 – Entering another field
The manufacturing program newly includes 25 most common surgical instruments and the range of products is constantly expanding.
1990 – Traumatology in the horizon
First on paper, physically in years to come, the first trauma implants for use in human medicine are made.
1992 – Privatization
Public limited company MEDIN is established, the successor of state enterprise Chirana.
2006 – Entering the field of Orthopaedics
MEDIN is taken over by Walter Medica (now MEDIN Orthopaedics), expanding its presence in orthopedics.
