Endoprosthesis is an integral casting consisting of cylindrical body and a square anchoring pin. Cylindrical body is ended with top articulatory concavity that makes the contact surface for the navicular bone after operation. On the opposite side of the endoprothesis cylindrical body is the anchoring pin of square cross-section ended with a truncated pyramid which enables fixation of the endoprothesis in the cavity of the first metacarp.
The implant stem is freely inserted in the cavity of the first metacarp and is not cemented.
The rectangular cross- section of the stem prevents from eventual tendency to rotate. The implant is supplied in one size. Endoprothesis is made of NUSIL“s silicone, marked as MED 4550. This material is intended for the long term usage (over 30 days) and complies with the required mechanical properties.
