MEDIN Cylindrical - MC-T

The stem is used as a part of the total hip joint replacement as a solution of late degenerative and inflammatory illnesses and some injury states. We recommend to use it with hip heads and acetabular replacements MEDIN.

Stem femoral cylindrical - cementless is made with a collar or without a collar. In the distal part, there is a circle cross section that gets larger in the proximal part into anatomical shape. Distal part of the stem ends with a spherical area with a paraboloid passage. The inner curve of the proximal part follows anatomical shape of the femur. The outer side of the proximal part is straight and connects to distal part of the stem. In the area of calcar femoris (that means passage part), so called "positioning collar" is placed between the proximal part of the stem and the neck. The neck of the prosthesis is ended with a standard cone 12/14 5°43´30´´.

Femoral komponent of the hip replacement is made of titanium alloy Ti6A14V (ISO5832/III) and it has a combined porous surface with hydroxyapatite layer in the proximal part. Both variants, with and without collar, are supplied in 9 sizes distinguished according to diameter of cylindrical part in the extent of 10 - 18 mm.

Combined porous surface applied on the anchoring part of the acetabular component consists of a porous titanium alloy layer, that has the same chemical composition as basic implant material, over which hydroxyapatite layer /CA10(PO4)6(OH)2/ is sprayed. Both layers are applied by plasma technology. Bone tissue growing through the porous surface forms mechanical high-quality connection that is suitably completed with chemical form of bond osteogenesis supported by HA layer.
